(For Brownies, and Juniors)

Visit Gunston Hall and become a Plantation Detective. As you tour the site, a booklet will guide your search for clues from long ago and help you to answer questions about what you see along the way. When you complete your booklet, bring it to the Visitors’ Center to receive your Gunston Hall patch!

Growing Up at Gunston Hall Hands-On Tour
(For Daisy Scouts)

Daisy Scouts, explore Gunston Hall through the eyes of a child. A hour-long interactive tour includes a stop at the plantation house, schoolhouse, and farmyard with animals. A fun outing— promise!

Program available Mondays, 3- 4 p.m., & Saturdays, 1 - 2 p.m.

Try-It and Badge Hands-On Workshops
(For Brownie and Junior Scouts)

Earn the Listening to the Past try-it and Local Lore badge. Two-hour guided workshops are designed to fulfill the try-it or badge requirements. Workshops include experiences in the plantation house and on the grounds, hands-on activities, and a take-home completed project.

Folk Art Badge Hands-On Workshop
(For Junior Scouts)

Earn all the requirements for this fun and active badge. Experiences in the historic area, hands-on activities, and a take-home project are featured. A very full afternoon!

Interest Project Tours
(For Cadette and Senior Scouts)

Scouts participate in a special-focus tour in order to complete specific requirements for the Museum Discovery and Women through Time interest projects. The program includes conversations with museum staff members about their jobs and a discussion of a major area of research for the museum: the role of women in the 1700s.
